StarletFighting to prevent the Nazi's from gaining a wehrwolfe army, Christoph and Elsa tread a serpentine path between an ambitious party man and their primal need for each other.

Excerpt from their first meeting:

“And you, child, you are an absolute vision, is she not Christoph?” Margaret continued.

“Thank you, Frau Margaret. I hope your journey to Berlin was pleasant?” Elsa directed the question to Christoph as Otto entered the room. She’d never been in the presence of the Clan’s Alpha. Was there protocol she’d missed? Had she forgotten to bow or something?

“The journey was pleasant enough. There are many changes since the last time I ventured into Berlin.” Christoph stepped around Margaret, effectively commanding Elsa’s complete attention. “Tell me,” he continued while Otto unobtrusively led Margaret out. “What is Erik’s status?”

Taken aback by the very business-like tone, Elsa wondered if she would glimpse the man she knew from their letters or simply deal with the Alpha. In that same moment, she chided herself. Erik’s situation was far too dire to bother with any other nonsense.

The Got Wolf? anthology was a contest from the Black Rose side of The Wild Rose Press. Shadow State won first place among a variety of interesting and very different stories.

5 Tombstones from Bitten by Books

Excerpt:

This was a fast-read filled with adventure and thrills but not overdone. As alternate histories go, this one felt genuine, and the anxiety brought about by Nazi rule was tangible. My only complaint is that the story was so short; the people and surrounding periphery were intriguing, and /I would have loved to get more of it all. I hope Ms. Roman has more of these stories in the works as I’m bound to gobble them up as well. Be prepared to devote all your time to completing this one - it was hard to put down!

You Need to Read from You Gotta Read Reviews

Short stories are always a nice way to get a feel of an authors work and if you like them. It seems I may have found five new authors to enjoy. Each story held its own and had me enthralled and glued to the pages to see what was going to happen next....All these stories were full of depth and action. If you enjoy stories full of love and action you will definitely enjoy these stories. With lots of Alpha males and strong women these stories take the reader on a nice ride. I thoroughly enjoyed this anthology and cannot wait to find some more stories from these authors.
